The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 就算在A24的量产风格里也不算优质作品吧。摄影打光是很美，可场景和表演太割裂了，完全是各演各的搭不上戏。难受，不属于我想看的电影，或者应该说它哪里像电影了！

此处的黑白影像让我想到芬奇的《曼克》，太过于清晰了，以至于所谓的复古不过是套层滤镜，虽然实际处理肯定复杂多了。但这个经典到现在以至于“陈旧”的剧本，完全没有迸发出一点儿新鲜的气质。我越看越觉得，奥逊版好啊，黑泽版也好啊，你这科恩版我咋评价啊？当然你一部《麦克白》影视作品当然可以看科恩版，只是与我过高的预期相比，我看到的这装旧酒的瓶子也不咋新，还故意做了个复古包装。
光影大赞，戏剧和电影的完美融合，把该简化的元素都简化了，黑白的电影艺术精品。

纯粹在我审美范围内的作品，绝美cinematography
很稳的改编，摄影和音效设计尤其出彩。在寂静空荡、好似噩梦般的城堡里，每段声音似乎都被放大扭曲，也在听觉上促进了Macbeth的暴躁多疑。放映后和Joel + Frances的q&a记几个印象深刻的回答：黑白摄影是最容易将图像变得抽象的方法，以此从中达到一种极简；台词是最重要的，它的韵律感要和音效相辅相成。#nyff59
6.0 布景甚至光都假得很——舞台质感，要说优点也只有这点了，至少给了一种体验，但这也不过是布鲁诺的功劳，那么单独的科恩，他的贡献呢？
三星半 戏剧再大的矛盾冲突其空洞的内容填补不了电影的细节，但风格化的尝试与挑战无疑是成功的。缺席的人在光影上已然惊艳到我一次，这一回表现的更加极致。
棚里拍摄，摄影还是强的，转场丝滑。
没看过其他版本的，至少这个版本我看着质感非常不错，相当震撼。
很多独白的台词能接受的话便会发现如诗一般美
