The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 特别是令人讨厌的角色（左卫门）在生死选择之间选择奉献，非常地打动人。
其实生活很多的灵感源泉都是随手一画想出来的，蜡笔小新的布里夫、肥嘟嘟左卫门，甚至是娜娜子姐姐，都是他随手创造出来的，但是却有血有肉，有着真情实感。

当然我觉得最好笑的还是肥嘟嘟左卫门第二次出现的场景哈哈哈哈
感觉又恢复到以前剧场版那味了，太好哭了！！！好感动！到最后升华真的牛，娜娜子问那些画纸人偶是谁，小新说，他们是我的救世英雄😭😭😭娜娜子，小内裤，不理不理左卫门
海报设计得挺好看，没想到真的会有泪点和教育意义，用照相机照人把人变成平面的这个设定蛮新颖，娜娜子太感人了。
唯一的亮点是对于虚伪的刻画
买家秀娜娜子完全不美丽，但她却能保护你，为你牺牲。
还是想说，这部剧场版是小新近五年里最好的一部剧场版了，最展示童心本真的一部。
每次脑洞都能这么大，带给我们新奇有趣的发想，动画里只有小新剧场版
作为搞笑电影，不搞笑就太搞笑了。虽然有笑点，温情，故事ok，但就是不好看，老观众回忆一下，新观众可能很难代入。可能蜡笔小新已经被限制在儿童故事了吧。。。。
瑕不掩瑜。去年替Misae心酸，今年直接看到猛男落泪。

近几年都是直线化的剧情，说实话和梦境王国基本上都是一个叙事套路。不过这一部增加了许多感动因素，无论是牺牲、奉献还是邪恶，都有一个理由。这个理由又是正当的，却不是那么的合时宜。这一部里没有纯粹的对立与邪恶，这是值得强调的一点，也是低龄化取向的必然——让孩子认识到因果与理由。没有无由来的善意，也没有无由来的恶意，一切都是在理由变迁中被形塑而来。如果小新的新伙伴来个背叛，最后的胜利还是归于天命之人，或许会更加精彩。
也没有什么好说的 非要让面目模糊的大众作为在主角的真挚呼唤下幡然醒悟吗
給我感覺是有點亂，不像去年新婚一樣有個明顯主軸。
