The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 欲望屈从现实，现实与幻想交合，将悬念推向高潮，黑木华这个角色就是智慧的化身，面对背叛，瓦解真相，制造幻想，电影和漫画的魅力就是无数次的将真实与虚无分解
高开低走。人物刻画和部分情节设置都是上乘，但关于海兽的展现与跟人类的矛盾点却令人失望地没有铺开，最后仅凭一家之言瓦解帝国精心编织的谎言简直天方夜谭。
毕竟生活不是漫画。直到影片七八十分钟也没感觉进入状态，最后佐和子一句“太迟了”和现实漫画交叉的结局救了整部片子。ps.有这么温柔好看的教练，很难不顺利把驾照拿下来。
把出轨作为核心点的爱情片不少，这部片子还能在这个老套的话题上别出新裁就是最大看点，漫画与现实，臆想与眼见，穿插和纠缠在一起，让观众在道德倾向上思考和摇摆，确实是一种相当独到的表达方式，最后的开放式结局相当到位，黑木华最后车内的转头实在妙，对于对方出轨后原谅与否的选择一直是很私人的，没有人可以帮助他人给出答案。
结尾的歌和演职表风格很喜欢
以漫画来阐述，虚虚实实，最后的逆转大快人心，女的对男的失望了就再也不存在后续了，道歉都嫌多余。剧情一般，漫画太加分了，画风真是美！
很日式的片子，节奏慢得我以为开了0.5倍速（）用漫画作为剧情推动的载体很少见，虚实结合难辨真假正是最大的亮点。“漫画”也是连接夫妻沟通的桥梁，是她独有的复仇方式。本以为自己猜到了结局，但看到最后也无法断言真相~
全片最令人心动的部分，就算两人一起画漫画。
时空交错还挺讨巧，作为创作者，要走一条新路真不容易。
好像是真的，又好像不是真的。这样的报仇最折磨人了吧。还是有点爽。
合格的低龄动画，套路熟练，萌点把握的也比较准，就是意图比较明显，世界观并没有展开

类似驯龙高手首部的设定与剧情 但感染力差很多 也偏低幼 而且好莱坞动画电影能这个片长也是少有了 6.75/10

结论就是 小三到底看上废柴哪一点 偏要垃圾堆里挑人 有些铺垫可能只说到一半点到为止 中间配乐有些精彩值得加分 脑洞和现实交汇 所以说 拿的确实是大女主剧本 从此和小奶狗HE
故事老套无聊，主角是黑人小女孩就很zzzq
啊呀3.5吧，总体节奏还是挺强的。戳中我的笑点挺多
一直在想教练是不是幻想出来的，结果……种草了黑木华的几对耳环
是夏日里才能透露的干燥肌肤，是绿色掩映中才被感知的自然，是认真的人才有的伤害和坦然。
善于挖坑的女主和自动跳坑的男主让人从头笑到尾，个别台词的出现似乎多此一举但若作为分镜中的要素来看又变得可以理解。配乐是神来之笔，最后闪现的男主所作的画稿和女主的眼神无声带过了两人开始这段关系的理由，也让女主的最终决定除了果决和潇洒之外多了一丝令人唏嘘。
